Part II - Canadian citizenship after

It is always a pleasure when Don Cameron contributes to this list. Don is a
former Canadian Consul who worked all over the world opening Canadian
Immigration offices, etc., etc. He also wrote the internal Immigration
newsletter for (I think) 14 years before going into private practice.
If I don't know the answer, i always call Don first. His comments about
waiting times are apropos here.
Oh Yes, to all our Canadian readers, Happy CANADA DAY and to all our
American readers, Happy July 4th.
I feel a little left out of July 4th this year. It is the first time in
years that I haven't been invited to the US Consul General's for the July
4th Lawn Party. Sniff Sniff!

David,
A few weeks ago I accompanied to an interview with a Citizenship Officer two
citizenship applicants who had applied 23 months previously. (As they were
over the age of 55 they were exempt from the examination.) They were told
that it would take another 4 to 6 months to complete the application.
So the current processing time in Vancouver is over 2 YEARS!
Best regards,
Don
