He literally goes to cities everywhere to point out what is happening.

Oh yes a hint. Go and buy the book. BUT before you read anything, read the AFTERWORD at the end. These two pages show that Garth is still a homeowner, but he has bought and is living in the kind of house which should maintain its value more than most. He can grow food and it is close to public transportation, etc., etc., etc.

If you read the AFTERWORD First, you will not be as terrified by what you read in the book. However, you 'will' evaluate all of your holdings and think twice about those Granite Counter tops.
