My question is: Canadian-specific
QUESTION: Hi,
If I am buying a condo built in 1996 do I have to pay GST, if I am buying it directly from the builder?

david ingram replies:
Yes! The builder will have rented it out for the last eight years. It might even have been rented to you.
The sale to the new purchaser is the first time it has been sold and GST is applied.
