QUESTION:
I would like to buy an operating business or franchise. If I buy something
for let say $150000 and I have $100000 would that be enough to obtain E2
Visa. How about buying a mobile homes property or 4-plex? Is that a good
investment for immigration purpose? And one more question if my wife is
landed immigrant in Canada and I'm citizen can we still qualify?

1.	An investment under $300,000 typically requires you to put up 3/4's of
the investment.  A $150,000 investment would require $115,000 or so.
2. 	The E2 is designed for an active business.  Usually a 4-plex or a rental
apartment would not qualify and a mobile home park would be on the edge.
Yes, if it had sites that changed daily as in an RV camp, NO if it rented
the pads by the month or year.
3.	The E-2 is available for people from anywhere.  However, it does NOT give
you the right to apply for a permanent status in the US and if your wife was
in the US for 3 years and a couple of days, she would lose her PR status in
Canada.  GET HER CANADIAN CITIZENSHIP BEFORE moving her to the USA.
