Hello David,
I read your e-mail Q&A without fail. I plan on speaking / hiring you if and when I move back to Canada.
My question is pretty simple:
I am a Canadian citizen, married to a US citizen, have lived continuously in the US for 24 years and have 2 children, aged 13 & 16 both born in the US.
I plan to obtain Canadian citizenship for my children, (not changing residence or anything else materially).
Is there any downside to their obtaining the dual citizenship? (Other than the obvious risk of the massive Canadian Military/Industrial complex drafting the kids to fight the many nations belligerent to Canada because of our quest for world domination).

There is absolutley NO downside to their claiming their birthright as Canadian Citizens. You would be doing them a great disservice if you did not register them.
