QUESTION:
What is my tax on $100,000 if I work in Saudi Arabia?
-----------------------------------------------------
david ingram replies:
1. If you are still deemed to be a resident of Canada and
you were a single resident of BC as your email address indicates,
your combined BC and Federal Tax would be $29,699.97.
2. If you were a resident of BC and wanted to make sure you
were covered by the Canada Pension Plan, your tax would be
$28,650.03 plus CPP of $3,346.40 for a total of $31,996.43. Note
that the actual tax is $1,000 less because of the credit for the
CPP payment.
3. If you arranged your affairs to be a non-resident of
Canada, your tax would be zero.
Go to www.centa.com - click on [US/Canada Taxation] and read the
rules in the Dennis Lee case and the decision by Judge Teskey.
And individual consultation would likely be in order as well.
