Subject: US Pardon for Marijuana Possession in 1970
Just wondering if it will ever be possible to receive a pardon for a conviction for marijuana possesion in California in 1970 during my 'hippie days'. I stopped smoking the stuff in 1972 when I became a Christian and discovered I didn't need that crutch anymore as I learned to lean on the Lord for my peace of mind. I discovered that God forgives but not the US Government! I married my sweetheart in 1978 and she is a US citizen, we raised 2 daughters who are joint US/Canadian citizens and we've lived in Abbotsford since 1988. I did receive a waiver from US Immigration allowing me to visit the US for up to 6 months at a time back in the early 80's which I've been told by US Customs never to lose as they do not give that particular card out anymore. What I would love to do is get it all cleared up before I die and go to heaven but I suspect it isn't possible. What do you think?

It sounds like you have done all you can. The only way to really remove it is for your wife to sponsor you to live in the US and go through the whole process of Green card and US citizenship.
