Thanks David! - Foreign Tax Credits missed by accountant

I would just like to take the time to thank you for "opening" my eyes and to let you know that I appreciate your solid advice. I recently wrote in regarding my dual citizenship and how much taxes I was paying to CCRA after filling in the US. After taking your suggestion to look at Schedule 1 on my Canadian return, my NYS Medicare, SDI/SUI, and NYS Tax was never claimed as a foreign tax credit. I am having my last year's return re-adjusted and making changes for this year as well.
Without your guidance, I would have never bothered looking into this. I feel I owe you something for the consultation. I am in the field of web editing and producing. I have constructed a number of websites and maintain them. If you need any web editing done, I would be glad to accommodate you in this area to return the favor.
Thanks again,
CXXXXXXXX

Under The Treaty, you can go back ten years in the US to adjust a US return for a foreign tax paid to Canada and a Canadian return which missed claiming the state taxes or social security or medicare can be adjusted back to 1985 by writing to the FAIRNESS COMMITTEE.
Thank you for the "thanks".
In the past week, I have had three people say that they picked up taxes they missed for foreign tax credits in the past.
Remember as well that we do this type of return by mail, fax, email and courier if you run out of help. We do the US AND the Canadian at the same time. This is always more efficient than finding someone for the US and someone else for Canada. They should be done in unison.
