I had a child in July/2003. I did not start living with the father of the
child until the end of September/2003. My question is: Can I file as a
single and claim my child for the "equivilent to spouse" deduction since I
have only lived with the father of my child for less that 3 months last
year.
Thank you for any advice you have.

When you are living with the father, neither of you can claim the equivalent to spouse exemption.
