QUESTION:
I am a canadian citizen who wishes to relocate to the us. I have a =
boyfriend who is a citizen of the us and I also have one child. I am =
employed in the health care field and capable of working. I need to know =
what I have to do to relocate and work as well. Thank you for your help.

Not easy. Unless you are an RN, which is easy and can be dealt with by =
an H1A or a TN visa.
Otherwise, you will have to find a job and have the organization sponsor =
you.
Easier would be to have your boyfriend sponsor you on a K-1 Fianc=E9e =
visa which means you would have to be married within 90 days immigrating =
to the US and will take about a year or more to issue.
You could also get married first and he could sponsor you. this would =
also take a year or more.
Or, you could be on a vacation, get married spontaneously and he could =
sponsor you from within the US. =20
In the last instance, you could not work in the US until you get your =
resident alien (green card). If your child is school age, you could =
have a problem enrolling them in school if you were to get married first =
in the US.
You can NOT apply for a visa, get it, and then find a job. Only the =
company you are going to work for can apply for the visa for you or =
give you the proper paper work for a TN visa.
The exception is, of course, that your boyfriend sponsors you.
