If you go to my web site www.centa.com go to newsletters, click on 1999 and
read the November 1999 newsletter you will find a six page newsletter which
will give you a lot of information.
If you are working inthe US, you must file a US tax return even if you are
paid from Canada. If you earn less than $10,000 while in the states and a
Canadian resident, you can exempt the up to $10,000 from FEDERAL TAX.
However, if you are working in California or Oregon or New York or Georgia
or any of the other 39 states with income tax returns, you will owe some
amount of state tax. Any state or federal taxes you pay can then be used as
a foreign tax credit when you file your Canadian returns.
You should book a priovate consultation for yourself and any of your
employees who are physically performing "any" duties in the USA.
If necessary, we can arrange to do this at your plant or office.
Hope this helps
