david ingram replies:
As an RN, you can work in the US under an H1A or a TN Visa. Get your job and move south.
After you are already there and working, get married and "then" have him sponsor you for your resident alien card. This will be 1000 per cent easier than having him sponsor you first. that process will take a year or more from now. A TN visa can take a day and an H1A will take a couple of months.
You are also very lucky. Doing it this way will also put less strain on your relationship. A lot of silly hassles often develop when someone is being sponsored as a fiancee or as a spouse and they do not have an "almost" automatic right to work by virtue of their profession or education.
If you wanted to work at two or three hospitals in the US, you could get two or three TN visas (one for each hospital).
Goto www.centa.com and read [Entering the US] for details about different visas.
