Can US resident deduct the real estate commission when

My question is: US-specific
QUESTION: I sold my house in 2003, you can deduct the real estate agent's commission?

You may deduct the real estate commission against the sale price of the house to determine the profit which may be taxable or part taxable if you have made over $250,000 per person or have not lived in the house for two of the last five years.
If you have not lived in the house for two years it is all taxable unless you had to move for reasons beyond your control such as a serious illness, a divorce, a job transfer, etc.
In this case, the number of days you lived in it over a two year period is divided by 730 and multiplied by $250,000.
So (as an example) if you bought the house on Jan 1 2003 and sold it on Dec 31, 2003, you would have owned it and lived in it for 365 days and the calculation would be 365/730 x's $250,000 or $125,000 excludable.
