david ingram replies:
I am assuming that you have a University degree in electronics or engineering or one of the other 60 or so professional occupations under NAFTA and that is how you became a PR of Canada.
As a PR (permanent resident) with a specialized occupation, you will qualify for an H1 visa to the USA but not a TN.
TN's are only available for Canadian, Mexican or American citizens.
Therefore, to get a TN, you will have to obtain Canadian Citizenship first which will take you five years more.
Be careful about taking a US job with an H1 visa. You could be in the US long enough to lose your PR status and not long enough to gain a resident alien card for the US. If the US job were to disappear, you could find yourself back in INDIA.
However, your brother could sponsor you as a resident alien of the US. It will take ten to forteen years.
