American citizen living and working in Canada ask

QUESTION:
Can an American live/work in Canada?
Thanks.

david ingram replies:
Of course. However, they have to get a work permit or a Permanent resident
card. (like a US green card).
One can come as a student and work while studying or come on their hook.
